Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to advance the NAS modernization under BNATCS for the FAA. The role is 100% on-site in Herndon, VA, with Bowie, MD as an alternate work location.

You will design, integrate, and analyze complex air traffic systems and radar-surveillance solutions that support national airspace safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include lifecycle EXE, architecture trade studies, and cross‑functional collaboration to meet program objectives.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Multiple education/experience paths accepted.
• Experience in systems engineering for complex hardware/software.
• Lifecycle activities: requirements, design, integration, verification, validation.
• Ability to conduct trade studies and performance evaluations.
• Create and manage technical requirements and architecture documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end systems engineering across the full lifecycle: requirements, design, integration, verification, and validation.
• Drive development of concepts, architectures, trade studies, and system analyses to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure objectives and requirements are met.
• Prepare and deliver technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Contribute to trade studies and analyses under senior engineers' mentorship.
• Participate in system-level reviews and assist with integration and testing activities.
