Job summary

SARACA seeks a Systems Engineer - Mechatronics to build, maintain, and troubleshoot the company’s expanding infrastructure. You will work with engineers to ensure high performance and reliability, and address problems as they arise.

Location: DFW, TX onsite. Start: Immediate. You will translate stakeholder goals into clear system requirements, develop ICDs, and collaborate with Product Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Architecture teams across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, CS or related field.
• 4–7+ years of systems engineering and requirements development experience.
• Experience with mechatronics, robotics, autonomous systems, or automotive/vehicle systems.
• Hands-on with IBM DOORS, Jama Connect, Polarion or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of hardware/software interfaces and system design.
• Experience with safety analyses (FMEA, HARA, STPA) and requirements traceability.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• INCOSE SEP or CPRE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate stakeholder and product goals into clear system/subsystem requirements.
• Develop and maintain system specifications and ICDs.
• Work closely with Product Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Architecture teams.
• Perform requirements traceability, impact analysis, and change management.
• Support system safety activities including HARA, STPA, FMEA, and risk mitigation.
• Lead design reviews and ensure requirements, safety, and compliance are addressed.
• Review test plans/procedures and ensure alignment with system requirements.
• Support conceptual design, feature estimation, customer discussions, and proposals.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
