Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a Systems Engineer to join the IFPC Inc 2 team in Huntsville, AL. You will develop MBSE artifacts, including requirements specifications, test procedures, and system models, to support verification of a ground-based defense system.

The role requires US citizenship with active secret clearance or the ability to obtain it, a ABET-accredited degree with 8+ years or MS with 6+ years, and the ability to work in a matrixed, multi-disciplinary environment in the North Alabama area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field with 8+ years of experience or MS with 6+ years.
• Experience deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
• Able to collaborate in a matrixed, multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
• US Citizenship with active secret clearance or ability to obtain it; resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the IFPC verification process & strategy.
• Stand up a verification review board.
• Own system level DVOs and VCNs.
• Review and approve DVOs and VCNs at subsystem and below level including software.
• Present metrics and status to SE lead and leadership weekly.
• Plan verification priorities and manage a verification burndown against multiple configurations.
• Ensure requirements are verifiable.
• Mentor team in writing good verification artifacts.
• Manage verification artifacts against multiple system configurations.
