Job summary

Leidos Defense is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the IFPC Inc 2 systems engineering team in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on MBSE artifacts, requirements, and verification across complex electrical, mechanical, and software domains.

You will use Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML to craft architecture content and ensure verifiability, while collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams in a matrixed program environment. Active secret clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, CS, CE, EE, ME, Aerospace or equivalent from ABET-accredited university with 8+ years or MS with 6+ years.
• Experience deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro‑mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
• Must collaborate effectively with multi‑disciplinary teams and communicate within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the IFPC verification process & strategy.
• Stand up a verification review board.
• Own system level DVOs and VCNs.
• Review and approve DVOs and VCNs at subsystem and software levels.
• Present metrics and status to SE lead and leadership weekly.
• Plan verification priorities and manage a verification burndown.
• Ensure requirements are verifiable across artifacts.
• Mentor team in writing good verification artifacts.
