Job summary

Summit TRC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to apply MBSE principles across the lifecycle. The role emphasizes requirements development, systems engineering tools, and MBSE frameworks within government environments.

The position requires US citizenship with a Secret or higher clearance and is on-site in Huntsville, AL. You will work with customers and cross-functional teams to define and document system requirements using SysML and MBSE tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in MBSE and systems engineering lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of SysML and modeling tools.
• Ability to interface with customers and navigate complex approval workflows.

Responsibilities

• Capture, understand, translate, and document customer requirements.
• Interface with customers and cross-functional teams, driving requirements and MBSE adoption within highly structured government environments.
• Define system and product requirements; and generate hardware/software specifications and requirements.
• Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.
• Manage and document system configurations and transitions into system realization.
• Execute all phases of the System Lifecycle in a model-based context by applying fundamental Systems Engineering principles.
• Architect, design, and depict systems using languages such as SysML.
• Develop and maintain models in tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, and Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Apply methodologies and frameworks such as MagicGrid, OOSEM, DoDAF, and UAF.

Summit TRC is seeking to add an experienced and motivated Systems Engineer to our team. This role will apply MBSE principles across the Systems Engineering Lifecycle. The right engineer will have a strong foundation in requirements development, Systems Engineering tools, and MBSE methodologies and frameworks.

Must be a US citizen with a Secret or higher security clearance.

This role will be performed on-site in Huntsville, AL.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field
• 3+ years of MBSE experience
• Clear knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle
• Experience interfacing with customers and navigating complex organizational processes and approval workflows
• Deep practical knowledge of SysML and Cameo tools
• Experience both setting up new models and working in models developed by others
• Extremely detail-oriented and attentive to the established project methodology
• Self-directed to perform open-ended tasks with thoughtful decision-making
• Work well within a team of MBSE practitioners, including proposing thoughtful changes to team processes and methodologies
