Job summary

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) seeks a Senior OpenShift Administrator to oversee the health, performance, and stability of on-premises enterprise clusters at NIWC Pacific. In this role, you will lead end-to-end administration and architectural optimization of our OpenShift infrastructure while supporting an agile team delivering custom applications for the U.S.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven experience managing and deploying OpenShift environments.
• Experience configuring security settings, access rules, and network policies.
• Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is preferred; IAT Level II certs valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end administration, scaling, and optimization of on-prem OpenShift clusters.
• Troubleshoot cluster and infrastructure issues using logs, events, and diagnostics.
• Document systems and procedures; automate with Bash, Python, Ansible.
• Perform regular updates, patches, and backups to keep platforms stable.
• Ensure secure, high-availability enterprise infrastructure.

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is seeking a Senior OpenShift Administrator to oversee the health, performance, and stability of on-premises enterprise clusters at NIWC Pacific. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end administration and architectural optimization of our OpenShift infrastructure while supporting an agile team delivering custom applications for the U.S. Government. This position is 100% onsite.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the end-to-end administration, scaling, and architectural optimization of on-premises Red Hat OpenShift clusters to ensure secure, high-availability enterprise infrastructure, with preferred experience in SUSE Rancher.
• 7+ years Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience troubleshooting cluster/infrastructure issues using logs, events, and system diagnostics.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot problems, learn new technologies, and document systems/procedures.
• Experience with scripting/automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Monitor cluster health and performance while troubleshooting and fixing node or application errors.
• Configure security settings, user access rules, and network policies to protect the cluster.
• Perform regular updates, software patches, and system backups to keep the platform stable.
