Job summary

Jovian Concepts, LLC. seeks a Systems Engineer L3 in the Annapolis Junction area to support a small SA team with Linux system administration and general systems engineering tasks. You will monitor for mission-critical updates, triage issues, and use JIRA for ticket resolution.

Expect work on Linux-based servers, authentication services, DNS, and file sharing in a secure lab environment. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland polygraph, and a strong background in STIG

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with MD polygraph required.
• Linux system administration experience at SA1/2 level.
• Storage management experience (Isilon, NetApp).
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, RH KVM, Proxmox) and automation tools.
• Background in PKI/TLS crypto and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with years of experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Work on a small SA team supporting Lab and Live systems.
• Administer Linux systems and provide general systems engineering support.
• Monitor emails and chat for mission-critical updates and use JIRA for tickets.
• Support authentication, DNS, share drives, and home directories for communications between systems.
• Ensure security posture via STIG compliance and incident handling.

Systems Engineer L3 Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a System Engineer Level 3 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction area.

A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a MD polygraph is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time. Description: Will work on a small SA team supporting a Lab and Live systems. All systems will be Linux hard boxes and VM's. Support will be focused as a Linux System Administrator and providing general systems engineering support. Will be responsible for monitoring and catching up on emails and chat, for mission critical updates and issues, then utilize JIRA for ticket resolution. The team supports Mission and Operations users and desktops so authentication, DNS, share drives and home directories support will be provided for the communications between all of it.

Required Skills:

• A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a MD polygraph is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time.
• Solid Experience with STE/STN, DISA STIG compliance work on Linux Systems
• Experience with LINUX Administration (SA1/2 level)
• Storage Management (Isilon, NetApp...)
• Virtualization (VMWare, RH KVM, Proxmox...)
• Some Experience with Containers/Cloud environments
• IP networking and Firewall experience.
• Experience with automation tools is a bonus Desired Skills:
• Have a solid understanding of PKI/TLS/crypto including crypto policies.
• Experience with automation tools is a bonus (Ansible, Salt...)
• Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl...)
• Application support and general troubleshooting.
• Hyper Converged Infrastructure exp (Harvester, Nutanix, Cisco Hyperflex...)
• A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience OR
• A High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area). OR
• A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience OR
• A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus two (2) years of systems engineering experience. Note 1 – Examples of qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management. Similar or comparable degrees will be acceptable. Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.
