Endictus is seeking a Systems Engineer – Junior to provide technical support for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of computer systems in a secure environment at Fort Meade, MD. You will assist with system integration, troubleshooting, and documentation under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Up to 3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or IT support.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to maintain a Secret Clearance
• Have or quickly obtain a US Passport
• Security+ or higher level certification (e.g. CISSP)

The Systems Engineer – Junior provides technical support for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of computer systems, software, and operations to ensure systems function according to design specifications. This role supports system integration, troubleshooting, and documentation efforts under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Primary Location: DISA Headquarters, Ft. Meade, MD.
• May require occasional travel for deployment or testing support to OCONUS locations.
• Work performed under supervision with opportunities for growth into mid-level roles.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Up to 3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or IT support.
• Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to maintain a Secret Clearance
• Have or quickly obtain a US Passport
• Security+ or higher level certification (e.g. CISSP)

Desired/Ideal Skills (not all required to start)

Core Technical Skills

• Linux administration and command-line proficiency.
• Scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, VLANs, VPNs).
• Understanding of data transport protocols (HTTP, FTP, SFTP, HTTPS).
• Familiarity with security tools and COTS integration (e.g., data diodes, web gateways).

Cybersecurity & Policy Knowledge

• Knowledge of data guard technologies (one-way/two-way).
• Understanding of IA policies (NIST 800-53, RMF, ICD 503).
• Familiarity with NSA Raise-the-Bar (RTB) requirements.
• Awareness of content inspection and sanitization processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience with system integration and virtualization (Docker, VMware).
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git).

• Clear communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Meticulous documentation for compliance and auditing.
• Attention to detail and eagerness to learn specialized technologies.
