Sabre Systems, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to provide technical and engineering support to the H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopter Program Office at Patuxent River, MD. This full-time hybrid role requires local telework with on-site 2–3 times per week and travel ~20%.

The candidate will apply SE methods, coordinate IFC processing, manage ECPs, and participate in SE TR events while addressing producibility and manufacturing risks. Active clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Familiarity with mission systems for naval aviation platforms and lifecycle sustainment.

Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to provide technical and engineering support to the H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopter Program Office (PMA-261) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will provide systems engineering support for the CH-53K Systems Engineering Level I IPT Lead and the Production IPT lead. This is a full-time hybrid position with local telework as the standard arrangement, with on-site requirements 2 to 3 times per week as required. Travel (~20%) is required for this position.

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Applies programmatic or technical knowledge by identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
• Employ systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems
• Coordinate the interim flight clearances (IFC) processing collaborating with the Technical Warrant Holders and the Airworthiness & Cyber Safe Office.
• Manages Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) development and processing
• Performs risk management activities, assess and track risk mitigations
• Proactively manage the product Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) and provide status updates to the Program Office
• Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
• Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations assessing contractor design, development and manufacturing/quality planning activities, ensuring that production and producibility considerations are being appropriately integrated into the systems engineering process.
• Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning and proposed or actual production/quality processes considering program affordability needs and with respect to established schedules and production plans.
• Support the planning and leading design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
• Provide technical support for producibility and manufacturing discussions in design reviews and program/technical meetings and provide design and process oriented technical inputs.
• Support the M&QE lead during the conduct of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs) and other M&QE reviews. Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
• Identify the causes of potential or actual manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommend solutions to IPT management via briefing or written correspondence.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• Must have at least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of in-service engineering principles, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and system upgrades.
• Familiarity with mission systems for naval aviation platforms and their lifecycle sustainment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $130,577.00 - $144,991.00
