Job summary

Sabre Systems, LLC is recruiting a Journeyman Engineer for the Manufacturing & Quality Engineering Division, stationed on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD with 30% travel to industry sites. The role supports a classified program, performing research analysis and technical domain engineering in MQE.

We seek candidates with a technical/industrial engineering background, 3+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college.
• At least three years of recent and relevant experience in a related labor category.
• Industrial engineering background desired.
• Manufacturing & Quality Engineering skills highly desired.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills for multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide research analysis and technical domain engineering support for a classified program in MQE.
• Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations ensuring producibility integrated into systems engineering.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to support MQE requirements and capacity analysis.
• Evaluate design producibility and manufacturing planning considering schedules and production plans.
• Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and briefings.
• Support planning and leadership of design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and PRRs.
• Provide technical input for producibility and manufacturing discussions in reviews.
• Identify causes of manufacturing/quality problems and recommend solutions to MQE and IPT management.
• Support PCAs, MRAs, QSEs, EIs, and SETR events and other MQE reviews.
• Conduct quality research to improve MQE products and fleet readiness.

Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting a Journeyman Engineer for the Manufacturing & Quality Engineering (M&QE) Division, in NAVAIR’s Systems Acquisition Group. The candidate will provide research analysis and technical domain engineering support in M&QE for a classified at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. Location On-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD and 30% travel to Industry sites. This work is not eligible for teleworking.

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to

• Provide support for Production & Quality of an early development classified program.
• Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations assessing contractor design, development and manufacturing/quality planning activities, ensuring that production and producibility considerations are being appropriately integrated into the systems engineering process.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to provide support in the establishment of M&QE requirements and management of M&QE efforts through all acquisition phases, including capacity analysis to examine for scalability.
• Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning and proposed or actual production/quality processes considering program affordability needs and with respect to established schedules and production plans.
• Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and related briefings.
• Support the M&QE Division and IPT in planning and leading design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
• Provide technical support for producibility and manufacturing discussions in design reviews and program/technical meetings and provide design and process oriented technical inputs.
• Identify the causes of potential or actual manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommend solutions to M&QE and IPT management via briefing or written correspondence.
• Support the M&QE lead during the conduct of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs), Engineering Investigations (EIs), and other M&QE reviews. Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to assist M&QE Division leadership in improving M&QE products and capabilities so that they optimally support programs and fleet readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university
• At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description is required.
• Industrial Engineering background is desired
• Manufacturing & Quality Engineering skills highly desired
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communications skills for working with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficient in the MS Office 365 suite
• Active DoD TOP SECRET security clearance (SCI eligible)
• Must be a US Citizen

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows $140,000.00 - $155,000.00
