Job summary

Sabre Systems, Inc. is actively seeking a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to provide technical and engineering support to the PMA-260 Office at Patuxent River NAS in Lexington Park, MD.

This full-time hybrid role features local telework with 2–3 on-site days weekly and travel about 15%. The successful candidate will integrate multiple engineering disciplines, develop requirements, coordinate major programs, and support documentation and reviews in common aviation ground support equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Professional knowledge of engineering concepts and principles.
• Specific knowledge of systems engineering for common aviation support equipment development programs.
• Experience in project engineering and large-scale engineering programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support and take direction from PMA-260 CHENG and Common Ground Support Equipment IPTL/DAPMSE.
• Perform as the systems engineer integrating various engineering disciplines for common aviation ground support equipment.
• Oversee all systems engineering aspects including requirements development and technical planning.
• Support SETR documentation, checklists and artifacts for reviews.
• Prepare technical documentation such as reports, drawings and briefings.
• Apply knowledge of support equipment development and Naval Aviation Maintenance Policy.
• Formulate solutions and analyze equipment for reliability, maintainability, safety, quality and readiness.
• Provide and disseminate specialized technical expertise on support equipment.
• Anticipate issues affecting safety or reliability and take action.
• Map future development of support equipment with current initiatives.
• Brief higher-level Program Office management on status and risks.

Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to provide technical and engineering support to the Common Aviation Support Equipment Program Office (PMA-260) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. PMA-260 is responsible for the procurement, development and fielding of Common Ground Support equipment and Automatic Test Equipment. This candidate will directly support the PMA-260 Common Ground Support Equipment Pillar. This is a full-time hybrid position with local telework as the standard arrangement, with on-site requirements 2 to 3 times per week as required. Travel (~15%) is required for this position.

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Will support and take direction from PMA-260 CHENG, Common Ground Support Equipment IPTL, and Common Ground Support Equipment DAPMSE.
• Performs as the common aviation support equipment systems engineer integrating various engineering disciplines and technical efforts.
• Responsible for all systems engineering aspects, including requirements development, technical planning, and coordination of major programs and projects in common aviation support equipment development.
• Responsible for supporting SETR documentation to include checklists and artifacts to support the reviews
• Reviews/prepares required technical documentation for assigned tasks such as technical reports, engineering drawings, briefings and other forms of technical documentation.
• Applies knowledge of support equipment development, Naval Aviation Maintenance Policy, and systems engineering principles.
• Formulates solutions and analyzes support equipment for the commodity while stressing reliability, maintainability, safety, quality, operational readiness, and performance
• Provides and disseminates specialized technical expertise on support equipment.
• Anticipate technical issues that could lead to serious safety, performance or reliability problems and take appropriate action.
• The candidate’s knowledge of support equipment/supportability and current initiatives to improve the support equipment system is instrumental in mapping out the future of support equipment development.
• Brief higher-level Program Office management on the status of assigned tasks and any potential problems, challenges, or opportunities relating to the specialty area.

Qualifications

• Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum years of experience: Must have at least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.
• Professional knowledge of engineering concepts and principles.
• Specific knowledge and skills are required in the application of systems engineering principles to the implementation of common aviation support equipment development programs.
• Direct experience, a fundamental knowledge of project engineering and procedural methods in the management of large-scale engineering programs.
• Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and possess technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $130,577.00 - $144,991.00
