Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) in Fall River, MA is seeking a System Engineer to join the Undersea Warfare team. You will lead testing, support system installations, and ensure mission-critical software and hardware operate reliably on US Navy platforms.

About The Role

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), a leading defense technology company, is seeking a System Engineer to be part of our Undersea Warfare team and based out of our Fall River, MA location.

This role will focus on the development, integration, and testing of advanced combat system solutions for U.S. Naval platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in naval systems, particularly with combat and navigation systems, and will be responsible for ensuring the seamless functionality and deployment of mission-critical software and hardware.

Clearance & Location Requirements

• All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• This is an on‑site position. Requiring at least 3 days in office, based out of our Fall River, MA location.

What You Will Do

• Testing and Leadership - Assist and lead the testing team for critical submarine platforms, specifically focusing on the AN/BYG‑1 Combat Control System and Electronic Warfare (EW) AN/BLQ‑10.
• System Installation - Partner with and assist the installation team to execute system installs at Submarine Learning Centers (SLC) across US.
• Fleet Engagement and Requirements: Work directly with the fleet to capture product requirements, determine operational needs, and coordinate system installation parameters.
• Analysis and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough system analysis and troubleshooting across the full SWFTS (Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems) architecture to resolve complex platform issues. Remote and onsite SLC support for training events.
• Documentation: Prepare and review Installation Design Plans, Diagram, Test procedures, user manual to support Modernization Training Program.

Who You Are (Required)

• 3 years of professional experience
• Must have hands on experience aboard US Navy Submarine
• Deep operational familiarity with undersea warfare environments
• Proven track record testing, procedure development, hands‑on system installations
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time as needed
