Job summary

GALT Aerospace in San Diego, CA seeks a full-time Systems Engineer Integration and Test (SEIT) to support integration and test of networked communication systems. You will develop documentation, configurations, and procedures for test environments, and deploy network gear while ensuring system reliability.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in testing or IT, DoD system exposure, Linux/Windows proficiency, and a security clearance eligibility. On-site role with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with testing, networking, or other IT related fields.
• Experience with DoD computer and radio systems.
• Working knowledge of routing, switching, protocols, VLANs, IP subnetting, LAN, WAN, etc.
• Must possess high proficiency in Linux and Windows.
• Must have a high-level understanding of automation and implementation.
• US Citizenship required with a minimum of an active Interim Secret clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

Responsibilities

Job Location

San Diego, CA. On-site, Minimal domestic travel required 20% of time and the opportunity for international travel, 5% of the time.

GALT Aerospace is looking for a full-time, salaried Systems Engineer Integration and Test (SEIT) to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role supporting the integration and test of networked communication systems.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation which includes test plans and procedures
• Develop configurations to support tests and prototypes of developing systems
• Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documentation

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

• 4+ years of experience with testing, networking, or other IT related fields
• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) computer and radio systems
• Working knowledge of routing, switching, protocols, VLANs, IP subnetting, LAN, WAN, etc
• Must possess high proficiency in Linux and Windows
• Must have a high-level understanding of automation and implementation
• US Citizenship required with a minimum of an active Interim Secret clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

• Working knowledge on network security devices (e.g. firewall, NGFW, IPS, IDS)
• Working knowledge on event management systems
• Tactical Data Link familiarity (e.g. L-16, etc.)
• Live field testing, experience with military communication systems highly desired
• Automation, scripting, or other development experience in either Python or JavaScript
• Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments is highly desired
• Experience developing scripts in ansible is desired
• Demonstrate knowledge in using various testing methodologies Agile and Scrum and logging results using solutions such as JIRA and or Confluence
• Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to carry 50 pounds
• Must be able to sit or stand for 8 hours at a time
• Climb/descend, work atop, and traverse certain machinery

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,000-$145,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
