Job summary

GALT Aerospace seeks a talented, fulltime Program Manager to lead Military Airborne Communication Payload Production programs in San Diego, onsite. You’ll liaison with customers, drive engineering and production teams, and manage schedules, risk, and procurement to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires DoD contractor experience, strong RF fundamentals, and a current clearance. Expect travel up to 10% and collaboration across defense partners and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in RF engineering or related STEM field with management exposure.
• 5+ years in Project/Program Management and 10+ years in aerospace/defense.
• Strong RF engineering fundamentals and wireless systems knowledge.
• Experience with defense contracting and DoD customers is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools, including MS Project and Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and large data sets.
• Must be a US citizen with an active or current security clearance.
• Ability to lead teams in fast-paced, process-improving environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, production, and supplier activities to meet cost and schedule goals.

Job Description

GALT Aerospace is seeking a talented, fulltime, salaried Program Manager to Lead programs related to Military Airborne Communication Mission Payload System Production Program.

At GALT Aerospace, Program Managers are the Primary Customer Liaison and are responsible for leading engineering and production teams, members of GALT Aerospace support organizations, and suppliers to successfully accomplish projects within cost and schedule to the satisfaction of the customer.

Responsibilities also include support for tracking project financials, and building/nurturing client relationships with US Department of Defense and US aerospace/defense companies.

GALT Aerospace Program Managers must know the fundamentals of project and resource planning such as integrated master schedule, work breakdown structure, resourced scheduling including critical path determination, risk identification and mitigation, and are responsible to understand the basics of defense contracting and contracting with suppliers and sub-contractors.

GALT Aerospace Program Managers have significant responsibility and are held accountable for program success. Time management skills are extremely important to effectively carry out the demands of this profession. They must be team-oriented and have effective communication and cooperation. Program Managers are expected to know industry norms, and safe practices to effectively carry out their duties.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

• Bachelor's Degree in RF Engineering or similar STEM field, Business, and/or Management
• 5+ years in Project/Program Management and 10+ years in aerospace defense industry of successful experience with increasing responsibilities in prototype projects, preferably as a DoD contractor.
• Thorough understanding of RF engineering principles and wireless communication systems
• Strong foundational knowledge in RF/microwave concepts and electromagnetic theory
• A high level of skill with Microsoft Office tools including MS-Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams
• A high level of skill working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and dealing with large data sets
• Ability to Lead others in demanding environments complying with and improving processes for ever more effective performance
• S. Citizenship required
• Active DOD Secret, TS/SCI, and/or SSBI clearance

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

• A varied background with small to medium sized programs in a rapid prototyping to transfer to production
• Familiarity with RF architecture, link budgeting, and frequency planning
• Proven track record in RF circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
• Extensive experience with RF simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, CST Studio Suite, or AWR Microwave Office
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Strong background in embedded software development or a related engineering field
• 10+ Years in Industry and Technical Leadership
• Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Strong critical and analytical thinkingAbility to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay Scale

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $148,000 - $190,000 and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
