Job summary

Adapt is seeking an established infrastructure-focused engineer to own the sandbox orchestration and storage systems that power our customer workloads. You will ship user-facing improvements, own deployments, and be measured by reliability, performance, and cost.

We prefer candidates who can work from our Presidio office in San Francisco, though remote work or relocation are considered for the right candidate. 4+ years of infra ownership and strong Rust/Go skills are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering experience with infrastructure ownership.
• Experience operating multi-tenant compute systems including isolation, reliability and cost.
• Strong Rust or Go skills, Linux fundamentals, and fluency in TypeScript or willingness to learn.
• Hands-on cloud, Kubernetes, and container or microVM experience including runtimes such as Firecracker or gVisor.

About the role

You'll own the systems that let Adapt agents run code and complete real work, from sandbox orchestration to storage and core infrastructure. This is a product-focused engineering role. You'll work with customers, ship user-facing improvements, and measure success through reliability, performance, and cost.

We prefer candidates who can work from our Presidio office in San Francisco. We're open to remote work or relocation for the right candidate.

About you

• 4+ years of engineering experience, with substantial infrastructure ownership, ideally at an early-stage company.
• Experience operating multi-tenant compute systems, including isolation, reliability, and cost.
• Strong Rust or Go skills, Linux fundamentals, and fluency in TypeScript or an appetite to learn.
• Hands-on cloud, Kubernetes, and container or microVM experience, including runtimes such as Firecracker or gVisor.

San Francisco Bay Area base salary is $200,000-$300,000. Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, and location. Total compensation includes equity and benefits and may include bonus or variable pay. Recruiting can share location-specific details.
