Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC in Houston, TX seeks a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure to support and optimize on-premises and cloud infrastructure, with emphasis on Infrastructure-as-Code and disaster recovery for reliable operations.

The candidate will manage VMware, Windows Server, Linux, AD, and storage platforms, collaborating across teams on enterprise projects and contributing to resilience through patching and DR planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive hands-on experience in systems engineering or administration.
• Experience managing VMware environments and Windows Server in enterprise environments.
• Strong AD, Citrix, MECM/SCCM, MSSQL, and IIS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage server lifecycle: install, upgrades, decommissioning, and support for VMware vSphere, vCenter, Windows, and Linux.
• Administer DFS and vSAN storage platforms.
• Plan patches, version upgrades, and root-cause analysis for infrastructure-related incidents.
• Collaborate on infrastructure design and documentation for major projects.
• Implement OS improvements to improve reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Support Rubrik backup and recovery systems.
• Ensure data integrity with appropriate controls.
• Provide remote access and Windows Active Directory administration support.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and cross-site replication.
• Perform scheduled hardware maintenance and manage third-party app environments.
• Act as second-level escalation support for desktop and infrastructure issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation for off-hours support.

Role Overview

Support and optimize on-premises and cloud infrastructure that powers critical business systems, while advancing automation through Infrastructure-as-Code and implementing monitoring and disaster recovery solutions to ensure reliable, resilient operations.

Key Responsibilities

What You Bring

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent education and experience.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive hands-on experience in systems engineering or administration.

Qualifications

• Skilled in managing VMware environments, Windows Server (2019/2022/2025), and major Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix, MECM/SCCM, MS-SQL, and IIS.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities in multi-site, mixed-technology enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and remote access technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
