Job summary

Zekiah Technologies, Inc. seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to support DoD programs in Virginia. You will join a motivated team, grow technically, and contribute to mission-critical operations with evolving frameworks and technologies.

Responsibilities include full SDLC execution, requirements analysis, system integration, and ensuring security and reliability across infrastructure. Telework partial (2 days/week) is available for this role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional DoD systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field required; 20 years if no STEM degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SDLC activities from requirements through deployment.
• Create flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
• Write clean, testable code and maintain software documentation.
• Develop specs and assess operational feasibility.
• Integrate software components into a functional system.
• Develop verification plans and QA procedures.
• Deploy software and evaluate user feedback for improvements.
• Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.
• Monitor and manage installed systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain OS and apps.
• Proactively ensure high availability of systems and infrastructure.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and work with devs on fixes.
• Maintain security, backups, and redundancy strategies.
• Write scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Contribute to design of information and support systems.
• Provide 2nd/3rd level support; liaise with vendors.

Description

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Systems Engineer with a desire to grow while working with a skilled and highly motivated team on leading-edge work. Our team provides IT services for systems engineering and information management systems to multiple major DoD programs. Each team member has opportunities to take on responsibilities according to their experience level and professional growth goals. This position supports an established contract developing mission-critical operations. Our customer’s framework continues to evolve. Evaluating, learning, and integrating new technologies will be a constant factor in this position. The responsibilities of this role include:

• Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment
• Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions
• Write well-designed, testable code
• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
• Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
• Comply with project plans and industry standards
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem-resolution

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience with a major DoD system performing tasks such as developing requirements, top level design, architecture, resolving design issues. 6 years must demonstrate experience with with total life cycle system development, analysis, CONOPS, GOTS/COTS, MBSE, certification experience.
• BS degree in a STEM discipline (20 years experience required if no STEM degree)
