Job summary

Zekiah Technologies, Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking an enthusiastic Systems Engineer to grow with a skilled team on leading-edge DoD programs. You will contribute across the software lifecycle, develop cross‑platform software, and support mission-critical operations.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in software design/engineering, a STEM degree, and the ability to work across operating systems with SQL/ORM experience. Partial telework is available, with active Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional software design, development, or engineering experience in program development, including modeling, simulation, or real-time systems.
• BS/BA in a STEM discipline.
• Ability to develop software for multiple operating systems.
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Proficiency in software engineering tools.
• Ability to document requirements and specifications.
• U.S. citizen with Interim Secret clearance (or higher)

Responsibilities

• Execute full SDLC from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
• Write well-designed, testable code.
• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility.
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
• Develop software verification plans and QA procedures.
• Document and maintain software functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback.
• Comply with project plans and industry standards.

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Systems Engineer with a desire to grow while working with a skilled and highly motivated team on leading-edge work. Our team provides IT services for systems engineering and information management systems to multiple major DoD programs. Each team member has opportunities to take on responsibilities according to their experience level and professional growth goals. Our staff mentors each other in the areas of expertise continuously enhancing the synergistic capability of the team.

This position supports an established contract developing mission-critical operations. Our customer’s framework continues to evolve. Evaluating, learning, and integrating new technologies will be a constant factor in this position. The responsibilities of this role include:
