Job summary

Ignite is seeking a Systems Engineer III to join our team in Huntsville, AL. You will support the MDA Chief Engineer and help transform engineering by leveraging MBSE to move away from document-driven processes.

Strong MBSE experience and a Secret clearance are required for this role. The ideal candidate will capture and develop new system models, coordinate cross-team collaboration, and apply diverse MBSE tools to improve modeling across programs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role.

• Strong Model-based engineering experience.

Job Overview

Ignite is currently seeking a driven, detail‑oriented Systems Engineer III to join our team! In this role you will support the MDA Chief Engineer in transforming the way in which the agency approaches engineering. The ideal candidate has strong experience working with MBSE tools and is interested in utilizing those tools to help move the agency away from document‑driven engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with capturing and developing new system models to become the backbone for how MDA will approach future engineering efforts.
• Leverage your skills with a variety of MBSE tools.
• Coordinate with internal, and external teams to collaborate on models.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field.
• 7+ years of experience.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Strong Model‑based engineering experience.
• Ability to excel in a team setting.
• Experience with Interface or Interoperability engineering domains.

Desired Qualifications

• Expertise in MBSE Tools (SysML, Cameo, MathWorks Simulink, MATLAB, Visio, ModelCenter, etc.).
• MDA Experience.
• Expertise in C2, data transport, PNT, or interoperability.

Security Clearance Requirements

Must have an active Secret Security Clearance.
