Job Summary

Position: Systems Engineer II – Signal Processing at the Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Discipline. This onsite role is located in Tucson, AZ.

As a Systems Engineer II – Signal Processing, you will collaborate in the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of radio frequency (RF) or electro‑optical / infrared (EO/IR) algorithms and models used across products and new initiatives. The role supports missile system programs and involves simulation, validation, hardware integration, and technical briefings.

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship required. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain special program access after start.

Responsibilities
  • Act as an established professional with advanced knowledge of signal processing to support development, execution, and completion of missile systems program objectives.
  • Use and modify simulations for design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and models.
  • Participate in engineering lab environments to test, verify, and validate sensor models and algorithm performance per requirements.
  • Focus on algorithm integration into hardware and collaborate in all development phases from program start‑up to live‑fire testing, supporting design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant prior experience.
  • Experience with the C programming language, or object‑oriented programming experience with C++, C#, or Java.
  • Experience with algorithm design, implementation, analysis, testing, or optimization.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Applied Math.
  • Experience with missile systems applications supporting customer programs.
  • Signal processing experience in RF, EO/IR, sonar, or acoustic domains.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting analysis to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration.
  • Ability to interface with disciplines such as Guidance, Navigation and Control; Software Engineering; Systems Engineering; or Hardware Engineering.
Salary Range

$68,900 - $131,100 USD.
