Job summary

RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer II for the onsite role in Andover, MA. You will support testing, troubleshoot hardware and software, and drive system performance improvements across multidisciplinary teams. Experience with modeling, verification, and integration in field or lab environments is required.

Active DoD security clearance (Secret) and eligibility are required. Master’s degree in STEM and strong documentation skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with generating technical documentation, such as test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues in an academic or internship setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration and verification in simulated and real environments.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze hardware, software, and system issues through detailed analysis and debugging.
  • Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.
  • Utilize modeling and simulation tools to predict system performance and support verification and validation.

What You Will Do
  • Support testing effort: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification in both simulated and real-world environments
  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed analysis and debugging
  • Drive Performance: Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues
  • Modeling and Analysis: Utilize modeling and simulation tools to predict system performance and support verification and validation
  • Integrate Systems: Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems in field test and hardware in the loop environments, evaluating their functionality and impact
  • Collaborate: Work with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality
  • Document and Communicate: Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements, and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders
  • Support Missions: Travel as needed (up to 15%) to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations occurring primarily during first shift and part time section shift hours
Location and Travel

This role is onsite at our RTX facility in Andover, MA. Local travel between Raytheon locations in MA and Southern NH may also be required.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date
  • Experience with generating technical documentation, such as test plans, procedures, or technical reports
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues in an academic or internship setting
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Experience with radar systems, weapons systems, or command and control systems
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field supporting integration and/or verification
  • Proficiency with commonly used test equipment, such as Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS or equivalent) and configuration control practices
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, JavaScript, C/C++ and/or other programming languages
What We Offer

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
