Job summary

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is seeking a Systems Engineer II to ensure the availability, reliability, and efficient operation of enterprise IT systems. You will configure new implementations and develop processes for ongoing server management.

Apply problem-solving to identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize performance and uptime, while adhering to security and policy requirements. You will need strong technical skills and self-motivation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS or related technical program.
• 3+ years designing, implementing, supporting infrastructure systems.
• Experience with AD, DNS, DHCP, Linux, VMware and related tech.
• ITSM practices and capability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage a queue of work requests to meet service levels and KPI objectives.
• Provide Web administration support and ensure logging/metrics data stability.
• Create shell scripts as required.
• Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
• Define and implement strategies for integrating disparate environments.
• Recommend and implement server improvements for efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues in Servers, Active Directory, VMware, networks.
• Plan milestones, estimate effort, and document configurations and service records.
• Ensure interoperability and compliance of enterprise computing systems.
• Plan server upgrades, maintenance, patches, and DR/BCP procedures.
• Respond to outages per BC/DR plans; assist other departments as needed.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and generate system statistics/reports.
• Follow Incident, Problem and Change management processes.
• Coordinate with vendors and peers to ensure secure, reliable upgrades.
