Elbit America, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer II - CBTT to participate in design, development, testing and analysis of products, equipment or processes.

The role covers the full product lifecycle, from concept through deployment, with emphasis on system-wide thinking and cross-functional coordination. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, architecture, modeling, prototyping, data analysis, and system troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-optical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Two (2-4) years of experience including hardware/software integration.
  • Strong fundamentals in engineering principles applicable to technical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist system engineers with all aspects of systems engineering.
  • Perform requirements analysis, architecture, and design tasks.
  • Model and simulate complex systems to inform decisions.

Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer II - CBTT participates in the design, development, testing, and analysis of products, equipment or processes; and performs a variety of assignments, under close guidance, requiring the application of basic engineering and scientific principles and techniques. Systems engineering covers the full product lifecycle, from concept through development and deployment, and ultimately, disposal. It concentrates on the design and application of the whole system as distinct from the parts. It involves looking at a problem in its entirety, taking into account all the facets and all the variables and relating the social to the technical aspect. The incumbent will assist in the design, development, testing, and analysis of products, equipment or processes; and perform a variety of assignments, under close guidance, requiring the application of basic engineering and scientific principles and techniques. This role will find analytical skills and ability to plan and lead system engineering activities will be challenged on a daily basis.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Assist system engineers with subjects related to all aspects of systems engineering, including, but not limited to:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Systems architecture and detailed design
  • Simulation and modeling of complex systems
  • Preliminary and Detailed design
  • Prototyping
  • Data Analysis and Process Improvement
  • Integration and testing/verification
  • System troubleshooting
  • Provide individual technical contribution and systems engineering leadership in the development of advanced systems
  • Work assignments through the development cycle from concept development, system trade-off analysis, system requirements definition and flow down, system architecture design, system integration and test…all the way down to evaluation of system performance at both the component and system level.
  • Support engineering project teams in the pursuit of new business, including the definition of advanced design concepts to address customer needs, preparation of engineering inputs, cost estimates and schedules for proposals.
  • Utilize and maintain existing analytical models, develop new models, design tests, and validate performance simulations using standard or developed test equipment.
  • Conduct research and prepare technical documentation based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
  • Work with variety of stakeholders including interfacing with internal and external project teams, company personnel (Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Business Development), and the customer community.
Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-optical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related engineering degree
  • Two (2-4) years of experience, including hardware/software integration experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, principles and methods that will enable practical application in the solution of technical problems is required
Skills and Abilities:
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to understand and follow complex, detailed instructions, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to approach technical problems in a logical and scientific manner.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities and be able to work for short to moderate periods of time without direct supervision.
  • Advantage - Have knowledge and experience in the development of Concept(s) of Operation, requirements development and management using dedicated tools (Cameo/Doors), conceptualization and analysis of complex systems architecture design through modeling, system/subsystem integration/test planning and execution, and qualification testing
  • Desire to learn new skills; examples:
  • RF (radar, microwave comms, etc.)
  • Power (AC 120/240V, DC 5/12/24/28/48V, conversion, distribution)
  • IT and networking
  • Scripting/automation of tasks
  • Ability to take in customer needs and scenarios, and develop solutions
  • Demonstrated success in present field (electrical/mechanical/SW, etc.) - specific accomplishments beyond team success
  • Experience/comfort/ease talking with customers/end users
  • Can clearly articulate plans and actions taken
  • Thinks logically through new/unfamiliar scenarios
Travel/Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel 20% to support projects.
  • Travel; outdoor field work will be required at different weather conditions
  • Must be a "US Person" and have ability to obtain security clearance. Existing clearance is an advantage.
