Pratt & Whitney's Air Traffic Systems (ATS) Systems Engineering team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our ATC initiative, supporting Marlborough, MA or Omaha, NE locations. This role focuses on requirements definition, interface control, and verification to modernize FAA weather systems.

You will guide development teams, perform trade studies, and generate technical documentation for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
• Experience with Red Hat Linux 9.x
• Must have prior experience with design, integration and Test of complex system and best practices
• Must have prior experience generating and delivering technical documentation to stakeholders, including drafting, reviewing, and updating materials
• Experience with automated test tools
• Test experience at customer or offsite locations
• Travel to visit customer sites for short periods of time is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.
• Must be willing to obtain FAA clearance: Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) clearance.

Our Air Traffic Systems (ATS) Systems Engineering Department has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our ATS Air Traffic Control (ATC) team in Omaha, NE or Marlborough, MA. Principal Systems Engineers provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software development teams & test personnel, perform system engineering analyses including trade studies, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement verification and validation. As part of the ATS team, you'll be instrumental in supporting the next generation of Air Traffic Control by supporting the replacement of the Federal Aviation System’s (FAA) aging legacy weather systems with a Next Generation Weather solution. This position requires occasional domestic travel.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Prior experience in systems engineering, with experience in containerization technologies (ex. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
• Prior experience supporting a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) government contract.
• Prior ATC program work experience, including NWP program experience
• Prior experience with IBM DOORS, and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Agile Development Processes
• Experience with AI/Machine Learning, Modeling and Simulation Applications, Agile/Scrum, and Atlassian Jira/Confluence
• Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation, Python, and BASH Scripting
• Earned Value Management System (EVMS) familiarity.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
