Job summary

Quevera is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join our team in Odenton, MD. The role requires a current TS/SCI with Poly clearance, a deep background as a systems engineer, and strong leadership capabilities to mentor junior staff.

You will work with industry experts to design, implement, and troubleshoot mission-critical solutions across Linux environments, web services, and cloud integrations. Collaboration and independent problem-solving are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 14+ years experience as a SE in programs/contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of additional SE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II (CAP/CASP+ CE/CISM/CISSP/GSLC/CCISO/HCISPP) or equivalent.

REQUIRED - MUST have a current TS/SCI Polygraph clearance to apply for role. Only those with a current TS/SCI with Poly clearance will be considered.

Required Experience:

• Fourteen (14) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level II (CAP or CASP+ CE or CISM or CISSP (or Associate) or GSLC or CCISO or HCISPP)

Demonstratable work experience with one or more of the following:

• o Python

• o JavaScript
• o Vue.js
• o React
• Experience with MariaDB, MS SQL, MySQL, or Oracle
• Experience leading small teams and/or mentoring junior developers
• Experience deploying services in Linux environments
• Nginx, Apache Tomcat, and/or IIS experience
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies
• Good interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with AWS (e.g. EC2, ASG, Lambda, etc.) or Azure cloud environment
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl, and Python
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and Git
