Job summary

RTX in McKinney, Texas is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering & Test Center. You will work in a cross-functional team, develop requirements, interfaces, and verification methods to support full system integration and testing.

The role offers exposure to aerospace and defense programs, hands-on testing of optical and electrical components, and use of Python, C++, MATLAB, and modeling tools such as DOORS/DNG, Rhapsody, and Cameo.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of Systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with system software, hardware, requirements and testing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

What You Will Do:
  • Work within a cross-functional team and interface with customers and program leadership

What You Will Learn:

You will contribute to Systems Engineering & Test Center (SE&TC) activities spanning the entire product development lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in system integration and testing while supporting critical projects

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Physics) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant Systems engineering experience
  • System software, system hardware, system requirements, and/or testing
  • System hardware/software installation, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Willingness to travel (domestic/international) up to 25%
  • Experience in test environments and on government contracts ATLAB, Python, scripting languages, and digital engineering tools (DOORS/DNG, Rhapsody, Cameo)
  • Background supporting integration, verification, and field/test facility activities
  • Ability to present technical analyses and solutions to leadership and customers
  • Use Monte Carlo simulation for system performance modeling
  • Diagnostic skills for identifying root causes, restoring functionality, and implementing preventative measures
  • Develop test procedures, reports, and troubleshooting complex C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
