Job summary

Quevera is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join our team at Fort Meade. You’ll work on mission-critical systems, collaborating with experts to design, implement, and sustain cutting-edge software and infrastructure.

The role requires a current TS/SCI with Poly clearance, with 14 years of SE experience and a DoD 8570 IAM II certification or higher. You’ll mentor others, deploy services in Linux, and contribute to a culture of innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering or related field; 14 years SE experience required.
• DoD 8570 IAM II level certification or higher required (CAP/CASP+ CE, CISSP, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Python, Java, .NET, web stacks and databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead SE activities on programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Develop and deploy services in Linux environments with Nginx/Tomcat/IIS as needed.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate across teams.

REQUIRED - MUST have a current TS/SCI Polygraph clearance to apply for role. Only those with a current TS/SCI with Poly clearance will be considered.

Required Experience

Fourteen (14) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level II (CAP or CASP+ CE or CISM or CISSP (or Associate) or GSLC or CCISO or HCISPP)

Demonstratable work experience with one or more of the following:

• Python

Experience with MariaDB, MS SQL, MySQL, or Oracle

Experience leading small teams and/or mentoring junior developers

Experience deploying services in Linux environments

Nginx, Apache Tomcat, and/or IIS experience

Excellent troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies

Good interpersonal skills

Desired Skills

Experience with AWS (e.g. EC2, ASG, Lambda, etc.) or Azure cloud environment

Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl, and Python

Experience working in an Agile development environment and Git
