Job summary

Dallas County seeks an IT Systems Engineer to install, configure, operate, and maintain compute and storage environments and related infrastructure under supervision. You will implement automation scripts, monitor systems, and support security, backup, and DR capabilities.

You will collaborate with project teams, vendors, and other agencies, helping plan for future technologies, evaluating products, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Two (2) years of related work experience in System Engineering maintaining compute/storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs script writing and coding of automation tools; creates and maintains policies and procedures for compute and storage environments.
• Configures, maintains, and operates compute/storage environments; monitors and troubleshoots issues.
• Maintains data protection and system discovery solutions; ensures backup/restore and security monitoring.
• Gathers requirements, researches solutions, coordinates deployment and testing with vendors and agencies.
• Plan for future technologies; stay updated on emerging trends; meet with vendors to understand roadmaps.
