Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to maintain availability and high performance in mixed Linux and Windows environments.

You will work with a results-driven team, improving fault tolerance and automation while collaborating with developers, operations, and release engineers. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in systems engineering, experience with configuration management, and a strong grasp of high-availability design.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience with Linux operating systems.
Automation/configuration management with Puppet, Ansible or Chef.
Familiarity with Git, Foreman, Jenkins or equivalent tooling.
Knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, resilient design.
Experience with horizontal/vertical scaling for performance.
Ability to specify hardware requirements for apps.
Experience leveraging AI tooling to improve work quality.

Responsibilities

Assist in design, planning and implementation of server solutions for performance and reliability.
Automate manual tasks using scripting and app development.
Investigate and adopt new technologies/tools as needed.
Respond to production operations in a 24/7 environment.
Work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
Maintain meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
Evaluate, test and integrate new OS versions, drivers and patches.
Provide technical analysis and propose solutions.
Support infrastructure initiatives including patching, upgrades, decommissions.
Coordinate with developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users.
Collaborate to achieve project goals and maintain system integrity.
Educate and mentor team members and operations staff.
Participate in weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support.
