Job summary

AMEWAS in Patuxent River, MD, seeks a Systems Engineer (Computer Hardware)-Journeyman. The role focuses on designing, testing, and integrating hardware for DoD programs; salary range $100,000–$140,000 and on-site work only. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or equivalent with experience, have SSE experience, and be capable of working with IPTs.

A DoD Top Secret clearance is required or eligibility. The position involves hands-on engineering, hardware integration, and collaboration with teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years additional work experience with an Associate’s degree (7 years total) or HS Diploma with 9 years total experience.
• 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience as Systems Security Engineer (SSE) with IPTs.
• Experience configuring network firewalls, routers and switches.
• Experience with Software Assurance (SwA), CPI and cyber modeling including threat/risk modeling.
• Experience with HMAC.
• Experience with UMCS and ASC.
• Experience with quantum computing.
• DoD Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, formulates, designs and tests practical engineering solutions.
• Guides development of modern complex systems.
• Uses systems engineering methods/tools for system development.
• Researches, designs, develops or tests computer equipment for military or scientific use.
• Supervises manufacturing and installation of computer equipment and components.
