Standard Job Description

The Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) Team at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics needs self-starting, motivated engineers who are willing to leverage their strengths in a team environment. The Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) Team support the programs from obsolescence threats by integrating affordable solutions to ensure readiness.

The Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) Team is an established focal point for integrating obsolescence solutions across the various programs at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. As part of the DMS Team, the DMS Fighter Groups support ADP programs based in Fort Worth, Palmdale, & Marietta. These systems engineers receive an extraordinary level of visibility as well as exposure to programmatic implementation while acting as integrators across a wide range of disciplines both internal and external to the Engineering Technology organization. The DMS Engineers are critical to the production and sustainment of the ADP fleet, with a proven record of mitigating industry obsolescence threats.

The candidate will perform duties which incorporate the analysis of technical and obsolescence data such as Bills of Material (BOM) and other industry reports, as well as inventory management and coordination, in order to identify potential impacts to a program. The candidate will also manage, review and disposition DMS Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRLs), and develop, coordinate, and support the presentation of DMS Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to the program Customer. The candidate will recommend mitigations for DMS events thru the use of Business Case Assessments (BCAs) to identify cost effective ways to protect the production and/or sustainment requirements.

In addition, the candidate will be a stakeholder in the maintenance and development process of various tools which are used by the team for tracking, coordinating, and executing DMS mitigation cases. Applying knowledge and experience in working with relational databases and using VBA and SQL, the candidate will help adapt critical toolsets to the ongoing demands of the programs.

Basic Qualifications
  • Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering Bachelors degree from an accredited college
  • Knowledge of electronic components, DMS and Project Management.
  • Industry experience in utilization of trade studies and business case analyses
Desired Skills
  • Engineering Experience in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering or Components Engineering with emphasis upon Combat / Vehicle Systems Integration.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools emphasizing Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience working in fast pace and highly visible environment where the employee will be managing multiple parallel tasks.
  • Experience with leading, coordinating, and collaborating with various disciplines towards a common goal.
  • Experience in reviewing, interpreting, and writing proposals, SSOWs, and BOEs.
  • Experience with written, verbal, and presentation communications skills, including briefing to members of upper management, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering disciplines with understanding of the total lifecycle (architecture, requirements, design, analysis, integration, verification, production and sustainment) including the following key competencies: Supplier Interface, Proposal Analysis, Risk and Opportunity Assessment.
  • Experience working with Suppliers and/or Supply Chain engagement.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
