Job summary

CACI is seeking a System Engineer with Software Experience at the TS/SCI with Poly level for roles around the Fort Meade area. The position emphasizes SE/SET A experience to support national defense initiatives and involves leading system requirements, architecture-driven design, and cross-discipline coordination.

The role requires multiple years of SE leadership, strong Python and Linux skills, and the ability to work within DoDAF/SOA frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with Software.
• Proficient in Python.
• Ability to navigate and troubleshoot issues in Linux.
• Familiarity with how the operating system functions and ability to navigate via CLI.
• IT Know-How spinning up virtual machines.
• Years of Experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts: Level 2: 14 years – or 19 years with no BS.
• Level 3: 20 years – or 25 years with no BS.

Responsibilities

• Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with defined architectures (DoDAF, SOA).
• Assist with development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
• Coordinate resolution of action items from CCB, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
• Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on evaluation of development and operational considerations.
• Allocate real-time process and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
• Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
• Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria to verify systems against requirements in a written plan.
• Develop system design solutions that satisfy requirements and functional analysis.
• Review and provide input to WBS, work packages, and the integrated master plan.
• Develop system engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, ICDes, Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents.
• Participate in interface definition, design, and changes to configuration between groups throughout the life cycle.
• Derive understanding of stakeholder needs and derive lower-level requirements that are complete, correct, and verifiable.
• Support approval of system definitions (requirements, designs, interfaces, test procedures) as a common reference for hardware and software developers.
• Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and related security mechanisms.
