Job summary

WILLCOR Inc. in Maryland seeks a Systems Engineer (SE1–SE3) focused on Data Science and Complex Systems to support mission-critical programs at Annapolis Junction. You will analyze complex systems of systems, work with unstructured data, and develop ML models.

You will apply NLP techniques, use tools like Apache Tika and PDFMiner, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust engineering solutions using Python or R and ML frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in systems engineering, especially with systems of systems.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong NLP and data science fundamentals.
• Experience with unstructured data processing using Apache Tika or PDFMiner.
• Ability to create qualitative analyses and visual representations of data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering to analyze, design, and manage complex systems of systems.
• Develop ML/NLP techniques to extract and process data from unstructured sources.
• Use Apache Tika and PDFMiner for data extraction.
• Create qualitative analyses and intuitive visualizations to support assessments.
• Build data processing pipelines and analytical models in Python or R.
• Design, train, and deploy ML models with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and deliver engineering products.
