Job summary

Vaxcyte is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain the systems and infrastructure that support the organization. Working within the Systems Engineering team, the Systems Engineer administers core cloud, SaaS, and network technologies, contributes to projects, and provides escalated support in a modern, cloud‑first environment.

This hands‑on role emphasizes ownership, growth, and collaboration with senior engineers across IT and enterprise tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of IT / systems engineering experience; biotech experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Okta, M365, Zoom, and Microsoft Intune / MEM.
• Experience administering cloud servers, workstations, and networks, incl. DNS/DHCP/NTP.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain cloud servers, workstations, lab infrastructure and networks.
• Administer and support SaaS and infrastructure technologies (Okta, M365, Intune, Proofpoint, Zoom, Meraki, virtualization).
• Implement, manage, and troubleshoot security measures and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and escalate complex issues to senior engineers as needed.
• Create and maintain documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and policies.
