Job summary

Cloudflare in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to the Browser Isolation team. You will develop in C++, work across distributed services, and help ensure secure, low-latency browsing experiences.

This role involves on-call rotation after onboarding, collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, and contributing to production systems written in Go, Rust, and TypeScript. Strong problem-solving and performance focus are essential.

Qualifications

Experience delivering and maintaining production software with C++ proficiency.
Strong knowledge of memory ownership, lifetimes and concurrency.
Experience with distributed systems and service-to-service communication.

Responsibilities

Own features from design through testing, rollout and production follow-up.
Develop and maintain C++ code in Chromium-based browser and distributed services.
Debug failures across browser processes and distributed components.
Improve session reliability, startup time, latency and resource use.
Write maintainable code, tests and design notes; participate in reviews.
Collaborate with teams and communicate trade-offs and blockers.
Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to incident follow-ups.
