Job Title: Systems Engineer - Automation
The Systems Engineer - Automation will collaborate with engineering and leadership teams to guide strategic initiatives aimed at improving delivery, quality, and reducing costs.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing distributed control systems (DCS) including PLC/HMI/SCADA programs, selecting products for BOM based on customer specifications, creating sequences of operations (SOO), and producing engineering drawings in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Producing engineering and project control submittals using standard software, selecting standard parts, and preparing control submittals in accordance with Baker Group’s standards.
- Reviewing product standards and control submittal formats with the engineering team.
- Providing sales support, including assisting with customer demos, estimating, product applications, and proposals.
- Ensuring employee satisfaction through effective communication and coordination.
- Executing project scope, identifying opportunities beyond contracted work, and understanding contract terms.
- Partnering with the engineering team and field technicians to improve processes, accuracy, and quality.
- Developing sequences of operations in collaboration with project teams.
- Re-estimating projects based on control submittals and providing as-built documentation post-project.
- Participating in turnover meetings and utilizing company documents for project management.
Minimum Education & Experience:
Equivalent experience in the automation industry (PLC or DDC) may substitute formal education.
