Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Systems Engineer Associate to contribute to datalink/communications, position and time sensors, navigation algorithms, modeling, antennas, and more. You will work across the Engineering Development Lifecycle, often in a lab with hands-on equipment, to design and develop systems for Land, Sea, and Airborne domains.

The role involves test leadership, collaboration with teammates, and interfacing with government customers.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation, and transition to production.
• Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
• Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Drive test efforts in support of the program requirements.
• Develop rigorous test procedures and perform extensive system-level lab testing.
• Collaborate with team members to learn best practices and troubleshoot problems.
• Communicate with Government customers and the certifying agency.
• Travel up to 10%.
