Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (HII) Mission Technologies in Coos Bay, Oregon seeks a Systems Engineer to manage day-to-day operations, system integration, and 24/7/365 watch support.

The role includes technical planning, troubleshooting, and maintaining critical information systems for defense programs. Requires a TS/SCI clearance, US citizenship, and relevant experience with electronic maintenance, information systems, or telecommunications.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience with bachelor's in related field; 3 years with master's in related field, or 9 years with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a background in Electronic Maintenance, Information Systems or Telecommunication disciplines
• Experience with the management of electronic equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance, configuration, and calibration
• Must have experience in Safety Procedures when working with electronic equipment
• Ability to identify and correct emergent problems involving technical and/or facility-related equipment, systems, and components
• Experience following quality assurance steps/checks
• TS/SCI clearance
• Must be able to obtain/maintain base access credentials
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Responsibilities

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
• Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
• Provides technical expertise for the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of installed systems
• Performs duties as Power Control Station/ Power Safety Officer (PCO/PSO) oversees the conduct of routine and preventative maintenance
• Informs the chain of command of any substantive changes to routine system configuration or capability
• Drafts daily/monthly/weekly watch bills in support of operational requirements
