Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Systems Engineer 4 to apply systems engineering across the life cycle and coordinate Solution Train-level planning for PAC programs. The role involves ensuring technical integrity across multiple agile release trains and interfacing with government stakeholders.

You will support PI Planning, manage cross-ART dependencies, and drive risk management and solution-level coordination in an on-site setting in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline with ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
• Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline with eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
• PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline with eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.
• Interacts with Government regarding SE technical considerations and issues.
• Communicates with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
• Ensure technical integrity and quality of work per ISO/IEC15288 process areas.
• Facilitate Solution Train-level PI Planning events across multiple ARTs.

Position Summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer 4 to apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle and facilitate Solution Train-level planning, coordination, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment across multiple Agile Release Trains supporting PAC programs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.
• Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
• Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
• Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288:
• Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
• Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement.
• Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management.
• Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.
• Facilitate Solution Train-level PI Planning events across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) supporting PAC programs.
• Coordinate dependencies between ARTs working on HPC systems and mission applications.
• Drive alignment between technical teams and stakeholders across the portfolio.
• Aid in the management of Solomon Train backlog and roadmap.
• Facilitate pre and post PI Planning meetings with key stakeholders.
• Support Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities and cross-discipline coordination.
• Bridge between multiple PMOs and technical teams executing under different ARTs.
• Identify and manage solution-level risks across multiple ARTs.
• Track and resolve cross-ART dependencies.
• Support risk analysis activities at the solutions level.
• Facilitate Solution Demo coordination.
• Run Solutions Train Sync Meetings.
• Coordinate Inspect & Adapt workshop at solution level.
• Track Solution Train Metrics and flow.

Required Qualifications

• Meet an applicable education and experience pathway in the equivalency section.

Required Education and Experience Equivalency

• A High School Diploma or GED with fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
• A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.

Required Security Clearance

• Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
• U.S. citizenship is required
