Job summary

Captivation Software seeks a mid-level systems engineer to assist with daily responsibilities and travel 3x/year for 7-10 days at a time. Candidates must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph and be a U.S. citizen.

The role requires a Bachelor's in an engineering field (or equivalent) and several years of systems engineering experience; Master’s or PhD can substitute for experience. Expect periodic travel and EMI/RF testing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
• High School Diploma or GED + four (4) years of general system engineering experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of systems engineering experience.
• PhD may substitute for three years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications.
• Strong experience applying RF theory to EMI testing of unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum.
• Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators).
• Formulating and documenting test plans.
• Draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports.
• Specify/review system and component performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit.
• Collaborate with internal and external agency stakeholders to support the E3 Program and customer mission requirements

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level systems engineer who will assist with daily responsibilities and be able to travel 3x/year for 7-10 days at a time.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

• A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of systems engineering experience.
• A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience.

Required Skills

• Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications
• Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum
• Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc.)
• Formulating and documenting test plans
• Draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports
• Specify and/or review system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit.
• Collaborate internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements

Desired Skills

• Preferred but not required to have experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and /or antenna calibration.
