Job summary

Dematic is seeking a creative and results-driven Systems Engineer to drive technical development, testing, integration, and acceptance testing of the Dematic solution. The role is based in/around the Wauwatosa, WI area with opportunities at other sites and involves close collaboration with Sales, Project Execution, and customer teams.

You will lead engineering discussions, facilitate layout and controls reviews, and generate system specifications for customer approval.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (Electrical, Controls, or Software Engineering) or acceptable alternative.
  • Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience in engineering with material handling industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation.
  • Customer-facing with strong interaction skills.
  • Collaborative and effective team player with cross-regional teamwork.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 60% annually.

Responsibilities

  • Validate at turnover from Sales to Project execution that we can build what was sold.
  • Participate in engineering discussions and actively participate in the project.
  • Attend and facilitate layout discussions internal and with the customer.
  • Attend and facilitate controls discussions internal and with the customer.
  • Attend and support the Functional Description Specification Workshop(s) internal and with the customer.
  • Generate System Specification for customer approval and understanding of the system.
  • Define and agree on interfaces between components (HW/SW/Controls/IT/Subs).
  • Coordinate required simulation updates and integration of results into the project.
  • Create and execute test planning and management to verify the completed system: FAT, internal emulation testing, system integration testing, throughput testing, system acceptance testing.
  • Guide system tuning and definition of adjustments.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $96,000 to $140,800 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:
This is What you Will Do in This Role:

    • Software Acceptance Testing (FAT)
    • Internal emulation testing
    • System Integration Testing
    • System Throughput Testing
    • System Acceptance Testing
  • Guide System tuning and definition of adjustments.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Controls, or Software Engineering, required (or acceptable alternative)
  • Master or Advanced Degree in Engineering, preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in engineering with demonstrated experience in material handling industry preferred
  • Functional leadership and expert communications
  • Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation.
  • Ability to be customer facing, good with customer interaction.
  • Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are regionally located
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods based on project life cycle. Approximately 60% annually.
