Job summary

Dematic seeks a Systems Engineer to lead validation, testing, integration and acceptance of the Dematic solution. You will be part of an interdisciplinary technical team and interact with customers during layout and controls workshops to ensure delivery meets requirements.

The role requires a BS in Electrical/Controls/Software Engineering, 7+ years of engineering experience (material handling preferred), strong documentation skills, and the ability to travel about 60% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Controls, or Software Engineering required (or acceptable alternative).
• Master or Advanced Degree in Engineering preferred.
• 7+ years engineering experience; material handling industry experience preferred.
• Ability to create technical documentation; customer-facing and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for validated turnover from Sales to Project execution; ensure what was sold is built.
• Participate in all engineering discussions and project activities.
• Attend and facilitate layout, controls, and workshop discussions with customers.
• Generate system specifications for customer approval and understanding.
• Define interfaces between components, systems hardware/software/IT/subsystems.
• Coordinate simulation updates and integrate results into the project.
• Create and execute test planning: FAT, emulation, system integration, throughput, acceptance.
• Guide system tuning and adjustments.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $96,000 to $140,800 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What you Will Do in This Role:

• Responsible for as sold validation at turn over from Sales to Project execution. Can we build what was sold
• Participation in all the engineering discussions and actively participate in the project
• Attend & facilitate layout discussions internal and with the customer
• Attend & facilitate controls discussions internal and with the customer
• Attend & support the Functional Description Specification Workshop(s) internal and with the customer
• Generate System Specification for the customer approval and understanding of the system
• Define & agree on interfaces between components systems (HW/SW/Controls/IT/Subs)
• Coordinate required simulation updates and integration of results into the project
• Create & execute test planning and management to verify completed system:
  • Software Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Internal emulation testing
  • System Integration Testing
  • System Throughput Testing
  • System Acceptance Testing
• Guide System tuning and definition of adjustments.

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Controls, or Software Engineering, required (or acceptable alternative)
• Master or Advanced Degree in Engineering, preferred
• 7+ years' experience in engineering with demonstrated experience in material handling industry preferred
• Functional leadership and expert communications
• Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation.
• Ability to be customer facing, good with customer interaction.
• Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are regionally located
• Willingness to travel for extended periods based on project life cycle. Approximately 60% annually.
