Job summary

Core4ce is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership across complex software, sensor, cloud, and advanced systems development efforts. You will translate requirements into integrated solutions, manage technical lifecycles, and coordinate system integration, testing, and validation.

Focus areas include AWS, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong preference for OPIR, space, or long-range strike systems experience, with TS/SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
  • Experience in systems engineering activities including planning, requirements analysis & allocation, system integration, interface definition, verification & validation, and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to integrate complex software systems and architectures in rigorous environments.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with AWS cloud architecture, deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
  • Ability to translate complex customer requirements into system architectures and executable tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and government audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation across the system lifecycle.
  • Provide technical management and oversight for development and integration of software capabilities and sensor concepts.
  • Translate customer and mission requirements into actionable technical plans, architectures, software definitions, and specifications.
  • Conduct functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
  • Architect and manage cloud-based software solutions in AWS environments.
  • Design and optimize Kubernetes-based CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployment.
  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, customers, government stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Drive scheduling, planning, and deconfliction of test and characterization activities.
  • Support test events, system characterization activities, and government technical meetings.
  • Develop a cohesive technical strategy across multiple projects aligning plans, requirements, and schedules.
  • Identify and resolve risks, dependencies, interfaces, and integration challenges.
  • Oversee project execution and assess progress against requirements and objectives.

Job description

Core4ce is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership and systems engineering support across complex software, sensor, cloud, and advanced systems development efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience translating customer requirements into integrated technical solutions, managing the technical lifecycle of complex software capabilities, and coordinating system integration, testing, verification, and validation activities.

This role will support the development and integration of advanced sensor architectures and software capabilities, with a strong emphasis on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD pipelines. The engineer will work across multiple integrated projects to establish technical strategy, resolve system and software interfaces, manage technical risks and dependencies, and ensure successful execution of research and development objectives.

Experience in Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) phenomenology, space systems analysis, or long-range strike weapon systems is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Perform technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, and cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses across the system lifecycle, from concept and design through development, test, deployment, operation, and sustainment.
  • Provide comprehensive technical management and oversight for the development and integration of complex software capabilities and advanced sensor concepts.
  • Translate complex customer and mission requirements into actionable technical plans, system architectures, software definitions, hardware/software specifications, and integrated solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition activities to ensure requirements are logically and systematically transformed into effective system solutions.
  • Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based software solutions withinAmazon Web Services (AWS)environments.
  • Design, manage, and optimizeKubernetes-based containerization and CI/CD pipelinesto support reliable, scalable, and efficient software development and deployment.
  • Manage technical integration across multiple software systems, architectures, sensors, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Drive technical scheduling, planning, coordination, and deconfliction of critical test and characterization activities.
  • Provide technical observation, support, and assessment during specialized test events, system characterization activities, and government technical meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive technical strategy across multiple integrated projects, ensuring alignment between technical plans, system requirements, deliverables, schedules, and strategic R&D objectives.
  • Identify and resolve technical risks, dependencies, interfaces, and integration challenges across hardware, software, cloud, and sensor systems.
  • Provide technical oversight of project execution and assess progress against requirements, architecture, test objectives, and expected system performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degreein Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
  • Demonstrated experience performing systems engineering activities including technical planning, requirements analysis and allocation, system integration, interface definition, verification and validation, and technical risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to integrate complex, multi-faceted software systems and architectures in rigorous operational, mission, or R&D environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the technical lifecycle of complex software solutions, from concept and architecture definition through integration, characterization, testing, and deployment.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise withAmazon Web Services (AWS), including cloud architecture, service design, deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Strong experience withcontainerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, managing, and optimizing Kubernetes-basedCI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to interpret complex customer requirements and translate them into system architectures, technical plans, software specifications, and executable engineering tasks.
  • Strong understanding of system-level architecture, functional analysis, requirements allocation, interface definition, trade studies, and technical integration.
  • Experience supporting technical test planning, execution, characterization, verification, and validation activities.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, government stakeholders, and technical leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts and assessments to technical and government audiences.
Experience in at least one of the following areas is highly preferred:
  • Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) phenomenology, including data processing, sensor capability characterization, modeling, or related systems.
  • Space systems analysis, including analytical characterization, modeling, architecture development, or technical integration of advanced space-based systems.
  • Long-range strike weapon systems, including requirements development, modeling, performance analysis, or technical systems integration.
