Overview

Astra Canyon is seeking a Systems Engineer to serve as the technical backbone for IFS application infrastructure—bridging implementation, sizing, and ongoing maintenance. This role combines hands‑on server and database administration with advisory work for clients navigating IFS Cloud environments.

You’ll collaborate closely with the Technical Services team to expand Astra Canyon’s internal expertise while ensuring seamless delivery and reliability across customer systems.

Key Responsibilities

Server & System Administration

• Install, configure, and manage both physical and virtual servers
• Maintain server performance, availability, and scalability through updates, patches, and backups
• Administer Windows and Linux operating systems
• Monitor system health, resource utilization, and performance
• Implement and enforce system security policies

Database Administration

• Install and manage Oracle Databases (including IFS DB Admin)
• Configure RMAN and database backup strategies
• Oversee Oracle and MS SQL administration across Windows and Linux environments

Network Management

• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues
• Implement firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs
• Maintain network security and stability

Software Management

• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise applications
• Manage IFS Cloud remote installations and IFS PSO deployments
• Oversee IFS customer build environments

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to IT regulations and compliance standards
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and processes
• Produce reports on performance, incidents, and trends

Technical Requirements

• IFS Cloud / Apps 10 installation and administration
• Windows/​Linux server configuration and troubleshooting
• Oracle and MS SQL database management
• Kubernetes and Docker administration

Performance Metrics

• Client and internal feedback
• Implementation project utilization and quality
• Contributions to technical knowledge and best practices
• Adherence to Astra Canyon norms and standards

Qualifications

• Experience as an IFS external consultant (3+ years preferred)

• Multiple full implementations across industries preferred
