Job summary

TEK Systems is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer (Linux, Datacenter & Automation) for a contract position in Santa Clara, CA onsite. The role blends Linux administration, infrastructure operations, server hardware experience, automation, and troubleshooting across large-scale compute environments.

You will deploy, configure, and support Linux-based infrastructure, troubleshoot hardware, OS, networking, and platform issues, and develop automation using Python, Bash, and Ansible.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, Linux Administration, Datacenter Operations, or related fields.
• Experience supporting Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with server hardware and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, switching, and routing.
• Experience with scripting/automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience working within physical datacenter environments or enterprise infrastructure teams.

Overview

We're seeking experienced Infrastructure Engineers to support large-scale compute and datacenter environments. This role is ideal for candidates with a blend of Linux administration, infrastructure operations, server hardware experience, automation, and troubleshooting skills.

You’ll work across physical and virtual infrastructure, helping deploy, support, automate, and optimize enterprise-scale environments that power next-generation technologies.

• Experience with Dell, HPE, Supermicro, Cisco UCS, or similar server platforms.
• Familiarity with BIOS, firmware, BMC, iLO, iDRAC, or IPMI.
• Experience with PXE booting, server provisioning, and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting large‑scale infrastructure environments.
• Exposure to AI, HPC, GPU, cloud, or accelerated computing environments.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
