Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage mid-large Windows Server environments across on‑premise and cloud platforms in Lynn, MA. You will configure, monitor, and support enterprise systems, ensuring stability, performance, and security while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, deep knowledge of M365, Azure, AD, DNS, Group Policy, and PowerShell, plus strong problem solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience managing mid-large Windows Server environments.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, PowerShell, SQL, and VMware virtualization.
• Knowledge of Windows security hardening, patching, and upgrades.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
• Covid vaccinated preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support mid-large Windows infrastructure, on-premise and cloud.
• Configure, administer, and support Windows Server environments across platforms (VMware, Citrix, Nutanix).
• Monitor health and performance with tooling such as LogicMonitor.
• Respond to urgent/after-hours incidents to maintain uptime.
• Participate in planning, lifecycle management, and modernization projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production systems.
• Implement security best practices including encryption and secure authentication.
• Lead or assist with server migrations and cloud integrations.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patch management.

Job description

• Responsible for managing and supporting a mid-large-scale Windows infrastructure.
• Configures, administers and supports enterprise‑scale Windows Server environments across on‑premise, physical, virtual, VMware, Citrix, and Nutanix platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
• Monitors the health and performance of the systems using monitoring tools (LogicMonitor).
• Responds to urgent and escalated support cases, including after‑hours and weekend incidents to maintain uninterrupted operations in mission‑critical environments.
• Participates in infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, and modernization initiatives to enhance system reliability and scalability.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to support production systems, resolve complex issues.
• Implements security best practices, including antivirus solutions, encryption, and secure authentication mechanisms.
• Assists with or lead technical projects, such as server migrations, new software implementations, or cloud integration.
• Optimizes system performance through regular maintenance, updates, and improvements.
• Manages patch management.
• Performs other duties as required.
