This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all hardware, software, and associated operating systems. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. The Systems Engineer will partner with business users to plan, coordinate, deploy, and optimize business applications, supporting project success through effective collaboration, communication, and technical leadership.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneEssential Duties/ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, deploy, and scale DAP Health’s IT Infrastructure to meet enterprise needs in a flexible, redundant, performant, and secure mannerUnderstand application and system requirements and allocate appropriate resources for deploymentDeploy, operate, and maintain virtualization technologies and server operating systems, including configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshootingDesign, optimize, and support system workflows with interdepartmental collaborationPerform maintenance functions for existing platforms as neededDocument systems, network, storage infrastructure, and procedures for both new and existing setupsCollaborate with third-party contractors to complete IT-related projectsDevelop training and informative documents regarding IT-specific proceduresDevelop, deploy, and maintain DAP Health’s intranet (SharePoint)Ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems by collaborating with network staff to fulfill business objectives and processesWork with stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issuesProvide technology advice that balances functionality, costs, and risksManage a mix of long-term projects, short-term service requests, and daily emergencies with flexibility and effective delegationDesign and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems using project management best practicesConduct research on software and systems products to support recommendations and purchasing effortsInteract and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and servicesGauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improvementDesign and perform system backup procedures and other recovery processes in line with disaster recovery and business continuity strategiesIntegrate servers and associated software (e.g., database, e-mail, print, backup) into enterprise systemsEnsure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applicationsCollaborate effectively with other departments to work toward shared goals and a common visionEnsure adherence to department policies and procedures and organization-wide implementation processesProactively reduce costs by increasing efficiency and finding cost-effective solutionsImplement and manage security measures to protect data, software, and hardwareCoordinate with IT support teams to provide second and third-level support for system issuesDevelop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to improve system efficiency and reduce manual tasksPlan and execute system upgrades and migrations with minimal downtimeEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)Perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills/AbilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsEffective interpersonal skillsWorking technical knowledge of current software protocols and Internet standardsExperience with system administration and installationFamiliarity with various operating systems and platformsExperience with cloud servicesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measuresExperience with virtualization technologiesWorking knowledge of network and PC operating systemsKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and lawsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or 5+years of experience in an information technology administrative roleRelevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified, or equivalentWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsThis position is on-site at a DAP Health location with hybrid abilityThis job operates in an office setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talkingAbility to lift and move up to 50 poundsRequires current and valid driver’s license and current personal auto insuranceAble to travel to DAP Health locations throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties
