Job summary

Technology Service Corporation seeks a Systems Engineer in King George, VA, supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. You will lead radar system design, integration, and testing for SPY 6 programs, with a focus on prototyping, technology insertions, and demonstrations.

Responsibilities include complex radar engineering, performing calculations, and assessing performance against specifications. Active secret clearance and US citizenship required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, computer or electronics engineering; other majors acceptable include mathematics, computer science or physics.
  • Radar systems integration and Test experience in SPY 6 program.
  • Shipboard radar operations familiarity and understanding of DBR interfaces with Aegis.
  • Active secret clearance and US citizenship required.
  • 8+ years of industry and/or DoD experience.

Job description

TSC is seeking a Systems Engineer, in King George, VA This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.

Responsibilities

The position will focus leading current and future radar system design and production. The position will support technology developments, technology insertions, prototyping and technology demonstrations in support of a mission critical and highly visible new program. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Performing complex radar system engineering, design, analysis, or sensor software development.
  • Experienced in formulating opinions, decisions and ultimate performance of the engineering tasks associated with the radar/sensor program/project.
  • Perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, computer or electronics engineering. Other acceptable majors include mathematics, computer science or physics.
  • RADAR systems integration and Test position in the SPY 6 program.
  • Established testing experience both pre and post production and understands the connected working of a shipboard RADAR system.
  • Specifically the operations of phased array RADARs in a shipboard environment as well as the interfaces and inner working of RADAR systems and how the RADAR interfaces with the AEGIS weapons system.
  • A minimum of 8 years industry and/or DoD experience
  • Familiarization with the Dual Band Radar (DBR) systems
  • Ability to read and understand or modify master and inch stone schedules as they apply to testing, development and into production.
  • A minimum of active secret clearance and US Citizenship required
