Job summary

RefrigiWear is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, build, secure, and maintain the technology foundation our global operations depend on. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least seven years in systems engineering or a similar role.
• Experience designing and supporting integrations between business systems.
• Scripting or programming proficiency: PowerShell, Python, or SQL.
• Hands-on network administration (routing, switching, firewalls).
• Information security experience; CISSP or similar certification is a plus.
• Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure; ERP tools like Odoo or NetSuite a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, communication, and time-management.

• Administer routing, switching, wireless, and firewall infrastructure and resolve complex connectivity issues.

• Maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery systems and regularly test restores and failovers.

Serve as the senior technical resource for RefrigiWear's IT infrastructure, designing and protecting the systems, networks, and integrations that support our business across North America and Europe.

The Opportunity

RefrigiWear is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to design, build, secure, and maintain the technology foundation our global operations depend on. This is a senior, hands-on technical role: you will guide infrastructure and security decisions, lead incident and recovery efforts, deliver complex integrations and automation, and serve as the escalation point for the IT support team.

Working closely with the IT Operations Manager, you will balance long-term technical direction and project delivery with the operational support needed to keep systems reliable, secure, and responsive.

What You'll Own

• Enterprise integrations - Design, build, and support integrations among ERP, warehouse management, EDI, e-commerce, HR, and Microsoft 365 systems, including automated employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Infrastructure engineering - Administer and maintain servers, virtualization, storage, and Microsoft Azure services.
• Network operations - Administer routing, switching, wireless, and firewall infrastructure and resolve complex connectivity issues.
• Security operations - Implement controls aligned with frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
• Incident leadership - Manage vulnerability remediation, security monitoring, and alert response, and serve as the technical lead during security incidents.
• Business continuity - Maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery systems and regularly test restores and failover capabilities.

• Develop scripts and automations that reduce manual work and improve system reliability.
• Administer user access controls and support periodic access reviews.
• Evaluate and apply new tools, including AI-based solutions, to improve efficiency.
• Support system upgrades, migrations, and consolidation projects.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex systems, network, application, and security issues.
• Document solutions to recurring issues and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors across multiple time zones.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least seven years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
• Experience designing and supporting integrations between business systems.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming with PowerShell, Python, or SQL.
• Hands-on network administration experience, including routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Required information security experience; CISSP or a similar certification is a plus.
• Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Odoo, or NetSuite is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, communication, and time-management skills.
• A security-focused approach and the judgment to address tactical issues without losing sight of the larger environment.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office environment with regular visits to warehouse and equipment-room areas. Occasional international travel and after-hours work may be required for scheduled maintenance and system incidents.
