Job summary

Nelson-Jameson, Inc. in Seattle seeks an IT Operations professional to maintain knowledge of hardware and software, and to work with the VP of IT to improve the company’s computer systems, PCs, and networking equipment.

You will install and maintain hardware/software and intranet/Internet connections, provide second-line support, and manage MSSQL Server 2016 backups while developing disaster recovery plans. Two to three years IT ops experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years in IT operations with a strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with MSSQL Server administration and backups.
  • Ability to develop disaster recovery plans and maintain IT policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide application support and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Define system requirements, priorities, and viable alternatives.
  • Coordinate the efforts of staff to locate, assess, install, test, and maintain computer software systems.
  • Coordinate conversions and upgrades to vendor systems.
  • Database administration for MSSQL Server 2016, including implementing automation scripts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a disaster recovery plan for IT operations.
  • Provide second-line technical support to staff via the help desk system.
  • Assist Web Team in administering and developing the company website as necessary.
